The choice to pursue a Doctorate in Economics in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 Era was very appropriate, namely by enrolling in the Doctoral Program in Economics with a concentration in Sustainable Development Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Trisakti University, Jakarta. With my background as a Pertamina staff employee and a desire to contribute to supporting sustainable development, I chose to study in the Doctoral Program in Economics with a concentration in Sustainable Development Management. Thank God, I was able to complete my studies in three years, graduating with a GPA of 3.82, Cum Laude. The dissertation I defended on December 23, 2020, was entitled “Analysis of the Impact of the Relocation of the National Capital from Jakarta to East Kalimantan on Sustainable Development in East Kalimantan Province.”
The key is to have strong determination, focus, and build a broad network to find the best solution, accompanied by prayers to Allah Almighty. God willing, it will be successful, beneficial, and blessed. Besides the obligation to seek knowledge (thalabul ‘ilmi), I gained extraordinary benefits from participating in the Doctoral Program, including increasing my knowledge of sustainable development management, thus increasing my concern and commitment to sustainable development issues and motivating myself to do my best for the benefit of the community, nation, and beloved Republic of Indonesia.
